─70 Years of Yi Yong Temple – Glory Online─
- This curatorial project originates from the invaluable cultural resources of Yi Yong Temple and the forward-looking vision of digital humanities research.The temple provides precious historical materials, including documents, video recordings, and oral histories, which are collated and translated using digital archiving technologies. Through environmental storytelling, interactive displays, and 2D and 3D curatorial tools, an immersive virtual exhibition is created that allows visitors to deeply explore the architectural styles, religious beliefs, and local cultural stories of Yi Yong Temple without the geographical constraints.
- Centered on the history and culture of Yi Yong Temple, this exhibition illustrates three core themes: Aesthetic Vision, Dharma Lineage, and Social Context. These themes are presented through Nun Kai-Jhong’s life, the temple’s artistic value, the continuity of religious faith, and technology‑enhanced curatorial methods. The curatorial framework balances academic depth with engaging design, offering visitors an intuitive understanding of Yi Yong Temple’s cultural context and enriching the overall exhibition experience.
- This curatorial project serves as a practical case of how a religious family lineage connects with local society. As an innovative approach in digital humanities, it presents a new challenge that has not been attempted in the field of Chinese religious studies. Starting with Yi Yong Temple, the project lays the groundwork for future systematic expansion to branch temples of the Southern Dagangshan Dharma lineage.
- The Baoju Branch of Kaohsiung Public Library and Yi Yong Temple are working together to promote this curatorial project by providing access to library computers. Through technology, the public can transcend time and space to immersively explore Kaohsiung’s history and the cherished cultural memories of the Baoju Creek area.
